County certifies general election results

Nearly 60% of Pike County’s registered voters cast ballots in the 2020 general election.
The results, certified on Tuesday, show that 13,895 ballots were cast by the 23,608 registered voters in Pike County. The 58.86% turnout narrowly eclipsed 2016, when 58.82% of the voters cast ballots.
Results included:
• Straight party voting, 4,146 Democrat; 4,933 Republican
• President: 5,636 for Joseph Biden; 8,042 for Donald Trump; 134 for Jo Jorgesen
• U.S. Senator: 6,020 Doug Jones; 7,777 for Tommy Tuberville; 14 write-ins.
• U.S. Representative, 2nd District: 5,468 Phyllis Harvey-Hall, 8,184 Barry Moore; 10 write-ins.
• Associate Justice of Supreme Court, Place 1: 8,851 for Greg Shaw; 236 write-ins;
• Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Place 2: 8,805 for Brad Mendheim; 228 write-ins;
• Court of Civil of Appeals Judge, Place 1: 8,826 William C. Thompson; 229 write-ins;
• Court of Civil Appeals Judge, Place 2: 8.,721 Matt Fridy, 222 write-ins;
