Saturday is Halloween. Saturday is football games. And, Saturday is the first day that the Pike County Cattlemen will begin accepting consignments for the 2020 Pike County Cattlemen’s Annual Equipment Auction to be held on Saturday, November 7 at Cattlemen Park.

Johnny Garrett, Pike County Cattlemen’s Association treasurer, said the Cattlemen will begin accepting consignments from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday at Cattleman Park and from 1 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1. Consignments will then be accepted Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Pike County Cattlemen’s Annual Equipment Auction is billed as an “equipment” auction but it will include a variety of items from household items to farm equipment to vehicles and even a doublewide trailer.

“We’ll have a large number of items up for sale and a big variety,” Garrett said. “So, if you have anything that you need to sell or want to sell, the Pike County Cattlemen’s Equipment Auction is the place.”

Although the Cattlemen’s “equipment” auction is an absolute auction with a 10 percent commission, Garrett said there is a “no sale, buy back” option. Sellers can buy back their items with a 3 percent commission.

The Pike County Cattlemen’s Annual Equipment Auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Cattlemen Park beginning at 8 a.m. and closing when all items are sold.

The Cattlemen will have two auctions going simultaneously except at 11 a.m. when one auctioneer will move to the vehicle sale.
