Wickles Pickles selected for national showcase

Since taking office in January 2017, President Donald Trump has welcomed hundreds of businesses from every state to display their unique, American-made products at the annual Made in America Showcase.

Wickles Pickles, a home-grown company founded by Alabama-born brothers Will and Trey Sims of Tallapoosa County and manufactured in Brundidge was chosen to represent Alabama in President Donald Trump administration’s fourth annual Made in America Showcase.

McEnany, who said President Trump is incredibly proud of the grit, ingenuity and use of American labor to manufacture exceptional products on the homeland.   

The Wickles Pickles were 90 years in the making until 1998 when the brothers decided to use the old family recipe and begin offering the “wickedly delicious pickles” to pickle lovers down South and everywhere else pickle lovers abide.

Chuck Caraway MVP manager, said he is proud of the success of the Sims brothers and Wickles Pickles.

“And, I am proud to be a partner with them,” Caraway said. “It’s good to see a local Alabama company recognized nationally and by the President.”

Caraway said, at the time, MVP is manufacturing the full line of Wickles Pickles, which have a little heat to them.

“The ‘Dirty Dills are a bit hotter but the other pickles have a little heat that comes on the back end,” Caraway said, adding that the hot and not so hot, the Wickles Pickles are deserving of the national recognition.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey tweeted congratulations to “Alabama’s very own Wickles Pickles for being recognized as part of the “Made in America Showcase.

Since 1998, Wickles Pickles has been sharing their delicious 90-year-old recipe with all of us to enjoy, the Alabama governor said in the tweet.

Alabama State Representative Wes Allen said he is very proud of the success and accomplishment of Wickles Pickles.

“It is a great honor for Wickles Pickles to be recognized by President Trump and the 4th Annual ‘Made in America Showcase,’” Allen said. “We are fortunate that Wickles Pickles chose Pike County to produce these wonderful products. This is another great testimony of the hard-working people of Pike County.”

Alabama companies recognized at previous White House Made in America Showcases include Red Land Cotton of Lawrence County, Altec Inc. of Jefferson County and Redline Steel of Limestone County.
