Scheduling set for 2020 “Battle for the Belt”

The Troy Trojans will face off against the South Alabama Jaguars on Oct. 3 on the road at 7 p.m. from Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNU.

This year’s installment will be first Saturday matchup between Troy and South Alabama since 2015. The four games since have taken place on Tuesday and Thursday once, and twice on a Wednesday.

Troy’s win over Middle Tennessee last week marked their first-ever regular season game televised by ESPN, and they will appear on the network for two weeks in a row when they take on 18th ranked BYU this weekend on the 26th at 9:15 p.m. (CT). The game against South Alabama next weekend will continue the ESPN trend and allow Troy to open their season with three-straight games broadcast on national television.

Troy holds a 5-3 lead in the all-time series against South Alabama. The Trojans have won three of the last four games overall, as well as the three out of the last four games played in Mobile. Troy won the last meeting at home in Troy with a score of 37-13.
