Law enforcement officers are searching for man who escaped Thursday morning from the Troy City Jail.
Jackson Lamar Harris escaped from the Troy City Jail at approximately 10:30 a.m. He was wearing a pair of orange coveralls and did not have on shoes when he escaped.
There is a heavy law enforcement presence, including a helicopter from ALEA ,in the area of Wiley Street between City Hall and South Knox Street and Martin Luther King Drive to Academy Street behind the Library.
Harris was serving time in the Troy City Jail for a contempt of court charge. Harris is a known drug user.
