The Brundidge City Council met Tuesday night to consider the city’s Annual Transportation Plan. The council also reviewed the FY2020 June Financials. The financial review is given each month to the council in order to keep the council up-to-date on the financial status of the city. The City of Brundidge Fiscal Year 2021 Transportation Plan (Rebuild America) was presented to the council for adoption by the mayor and council.

Linda Faust, city clerk, said the council adopted the annual Transportation Plan to use the estimated revenues of $16,813 anticipated from the Rebuild Alabama Act (Fuel Bill) fund during the 2021 Fiscal Year to perform roadway improvements, repairs, resurfacing, construction or maintenance of Veterans Boulevard.  And/or, Faust said, the city will use the funds as match monies for any state or federal grant-funded projects to perform roadway improvements, repairs, resurfacing, reconstruction or maintenance within the city’s existing street/road network during Fiscal Year 2021

While receipt of distributions is not tied to any report or plan, the Rebuild Alabama Act requires municipalities to adopt, by majority vote of the council, an annual transportation plan no later than August 31 for the next fiscal year, Faust said. The City of Brundidge Transportation Plan will be posted at city hall and on the city’s website.
