The Pike County Chamber of Commerce will host the Pike County Municipal Candidate Forum that will be conducted via Zoom and later posted to the Chamber’s Facebook page.

The forum will be moderated by Chamber President Dana Sanders.

“The questions asked will have been submitted and selected by Pike County Chamber of Commerce members in good standing,” Sanders said. “Each candidate will be asked the same questions and in the same order as their opponent(s). The questions for the candidates for mayor will be different from the questions asked of the candidates for the council seats.”

Sanders said the Pike County Municipal Candidate Forum will provide an opportunity for the candidates to have their voices heard.

“Because of COVID-19, there is not the usual amount of door-to-door campaigning,” Sanders said. “This is an opportunity for voters to hear the candidates speak in order to make more informed choices in the August 25 municipal elections.”

The recordings will be made on Monday and Tuesday, August 17 and 18, and posted to the Chamber’s Facebook page when they are put on one post.
