Native Trojan Dr. T. Bob Davis of Dallas enjoys a national and international reputation for his many contributions to dentistry, piano performance and church outreach.
Davis is multi-talented, energetic and deeply committed to all he does and has won the respect of his peers in dentistry, music, and his Dallas community, said the Rev. Perry Green of Troy.
Green will join Dr. T. Bob Davis in “Hymns for Him!” an evening of worship in song at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 8, at Bush Baptist Church.
“T. Bob Davis is a remarkable pianist with an unbelievable energy level,” Green said. “His desire is to use his talent to the glory of God and to encourage the church. We are excited to have him back home in Troy Saturday night for an evening of worship that features the good old hymns and gospel favorites from years gone by.”
Green said the program will feature familiar hymns including “He Keeps Me Singing,” “I Love to Tell the Story,” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
Joining Davis, pianist, and Green, soloist, will be former Trojan, the Honorable Keith Watkins, guitarist, and Janis Davis, vocalist.
“Hymns for Him!” will be an opportunity to welcome home T. Bob Davis and his wife, Janis, and to welcome Keith back home again,” Green said. “We invite all those who enjoy the old hymns and gospel favorites to join us for ‘Hymns for Him!’ Saturday night at Bush Baptist Church.”
Green said admission is free and everyone is encouraged to come early for choice seating.
“Due to health concerns, we will observe safe distancing in seating,” he said. “Every other pew is sectioned off. Masks are suggested but not required.”
Bush Baptist Church is located at 605 South George Wallace Drive, Troy. “Hymns for Him!” will be in the main sanctuary.
