Investigators are asking for the public’s help in gathering info about the suspects in an early morning shooting on Saturday that left one man dead and two hospitalized.

The incident took place  about 2:20 a.m. across the street from a nightclub at 109 Highway 231 South, said Capt. Bob Williamson of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

“The nightclub parking lot was full and there were cars parked across the highway,” Williamson said.

The three men were shot in the parking area, and two were transported via private vehicle to Troy Regional Medical Center. A third was transported by ambulance.

“One of the individuals was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other two were transported to two different hospitals in Montgomery,” Williamson said. “One of the subjects underwent surgery and has life-threatening injuries. The other underwent surgery but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”

Williamson said investigators are not releasing the identities of the individuals who were shot or any additional details about the incident, pending the investigation.

“But we don’t believe there is any outside danger to the public,” he said. “Right now, we’re asking for help from the public – anybody who may have been at the club or seen or heard anything.”

Williamson said individuals can call 334-566-4347 and ask to speak with an investigator.

“The public has been a lot of help to us, and we hope that will continue,” he said.
