Mrs. Ollie Jane Denison, age 79, Troy, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was born on August 23, 1940 and raised in Eastaboga, AL to Robert Perrin and Lorene Houston Moore. She attended Athens College where she met her husband, Dr. William R. Denison, of 56 years. She completed her bachelor’s degree in education from Troy State University. She retired after serving Pike County’s students for 30 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time hunting treasures with her husband. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and a treasured friend to many. Her most cherished role was that of grandmother for 28 years and was affectionately known as “Mia”. Jane was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor, and she will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mrs. Denison was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. William Denison and is survived by her brother Robert (Linda) Moore; two sons Joey (Sharon) and Rae (Bronda) of Troy, AL; nine grandchildren, Will Denison of Troy, AL, Joey (Becca) Denison of Chattanooga, TN, Carrley (Hardy) Gibson of Columbus, GA, Cailyn Barron of Troy, AL, Trey Denison of Troy, AL, Katie Denison of Ocilla, GA, Alec Denison of Ocilla, GA and one nephew Jeffrey (Elizabeth and Harper) Moore of Helena, AL.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Dillard Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Pallbearers will be Will Denison, Joey Denison, Trey Denison, Alec Denison, Jeffrey Moore and Merrill Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy, AL.
