State COVID cases top 11,100

Pike County recorded three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday as the state topped 11,100 confirmed cases.

As  5 p.m., the Alabama Department of Public Health reported 103 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pike County, with more than 730 tests conducted and no deaths. The state report does not differentiate between active and inactive cases.

The ADPH reported a total of 11,101confirmed cases in the state with 473 reported deaths and more than 106,700 tests conducted.

According to the ADPH, 264  new cases were reported Wednesday; 312 new cases were reported on Tuesday; and 273 on Monday.

This week also marked the first under eased health restrictions allowing the reopening of beauty salons and barber shops, restaurants, beaches and churches.

The order is in place through May 15.
