Editor’s note: Updated 9:11 a.m. March 31 to change the name of JR Finch.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, a semi-truck load of frozen meat will be given away at Paradise Homes in Troy to those who are in need of meat products during these insecure times, said JR Finch, son of Lucy Bailey, Paradise Homes owner
“We know that coronavirus is causing financial hardships for many people,” Finch said. “We also realize that the price of meat is escalating making it unaffordable for many.
“So, we at Paradise Homes, have secured at truckload of meat from the Montgomery Area Food Bank and it will be offered free of charge until it has all be distributed. This is a way for Paradise Homes to give back to the community during these very difficult times.”
The meat, including chicken to hamburger to ribs, will be packed in boxes and handed out as the vehicles are driven through the Paradise Homes parking lot.
Finch said the vehicles will enter the main entrance and proceed through the line.
“Each box will have the same amount of meat, perhaps not the same kinds of meat,” Finch said.
Finch has experience with drive-thru giveaways with Choose Life Ministries and said the permits have been approved and everything will be in place to ensure an orderly and safe meat giveaway.
