Jane Greene Hightower, 94, of Troy, went to be with the Lord on February 29, 2020, at Troy Health and Rehab. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Green Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Gillis G. and Frances B. Greene; her husband, David Hightower; her sister, Erline Greene, two grandchildren, Melissa and Bobby Hightower and one great grandson Hamp Nicholson.

She is survived by her sons, Charles D. Hightower Jr. (Nancy) of Thomasville, Georgia; William G. Hightower (Judi) of Troy; Michael L. Hightower (Billie) of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Nicholson (Wes) of Thomasville, Georgia, Timothy Hightower (Sara) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Matt Hightower (Amanda) of Troy, Molly Hindman (David) of Calera, Daniel Hightower (Courtney) of Jacksonville, Alabama, Ethan Hightower (Katie) of Charlottesville, Virginia, Thomas Hightower (Amanda) of Jacksonville, Florida, Lauren Fendall of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and 15  great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Hightower, Matt Hightower, David Hindman, Ethan Hightower, Thomas Hightower and Lauren Fendall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jinright and Scott Swindall.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses of Compassus Hospice and the staff of Troy Health and Rehabilitation, especially Delores Scott, Ann Coleman, Shenika Cooks and Mary Byrd.
