Jeff Coleman is the clear winner of the race to represent the Republican Party in the General Election in November.
What is still unclear is who his opponent will be as Barry Moore and Jessica Taylor are within 1 percent of each other based on unofficial election results provided by the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office on Tuesday night.
The website shows Coleman in the lead with 38.3 percent of the vote with 66 of 67 counties reporting.
Barry Moore is shown as the second place finisher with 20.59 percent of the vote. Jessica Taylor was just behind at 19.8 percent. They are unofficially separated by just 693 votes.
The race will not be made official until next Tuesday when provisional ballots are counted.
