A Pike County man died Sunday night from injuries he received when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree earlier that day.

William Shane Fouts, 34, of Troy, was traveling along Pike County Road 7708 on Sunday near the community of China Grove when the 2002 Chevrolet Silveado he was operating left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Fouts was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Fouts was flown form the crash scene to Baptist South Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
