Krystal employee Tammy Green said she and a coworker had just stepped back into the kitchen when a masked gunman entered the restaurant with a handgun, demanding the cashier to give him money.

“It was the scariest thing I’ve been involved in,” Green said.

Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said the man entered the store at about 4:20 p.m. and retrieved an undetermined amount of money before fleeing the building, last seen running behind the Citi Trends building.

Barr said the suspect is believed to be a black male between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. The man was covered in all black, including a ski mask or some other head covering that obscured his face from view.

Police are asking anybody with any information concerning the crime to contact the Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500.

“Even if you were in the area and saw somebody running, or possibly hurrying into a car, even if it seems minor, give us a call and let us know,” Barr said.
