A Brundidge woman was airlifted on Sunday after being seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in Brundidge.
Betsy Bowden was transported by air to Baptist South in Montgomery after the vehicle she was driving collided with a transport truck on U.S. Highway 231.
The collision occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the highway’s intersection with Veterans Boulevard.
“It appeared that (Bowden’s) vehicle was attempting to merge into the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 231,” said Brundidge Police Chief Moses Davenport. “We’re still not sure exactly how the collision happened – that’s still under investigation.”
Another passenger in Bowden’s vehicle was also transported by ground ambulance to Troy Regional Medical Center. The driver of the truck was uninjured in the wreck.
