James M “Red” Austin, 72, a resident of the Corinth community, died Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Troy Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at noon from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Donnie Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Sandfield Cemetery in Banks with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 11 a.m. until noon at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Austin reveled in watching his little nieces and nephews play. He truly enjoyed his time spent working at the Troy Motor Company.

He is survived by his siblings, Myra Brooks, Cherry Ledford (Raymond), Wyatt Austin (Diane), Jackie Johnston, Lyndon Austin; great-nephew,Reed Ledford; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Minnie Austin; nephew, Christopher Ledford; and nieces, Brooke Ledford, and Lexi Pierce.

Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sandfield Cemetery Fund: 6153 AL Hwy 223, Troy, AL 36081.
