House catches fire on Trojan Way

Firefighters responded to a house on fire Friday evening after receiving reports of smoke coming from the home.
The Troy Fire Department was called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. with heavy smoke coming from the wooden structure.
Deputy Fire Chief Curtiss Shaver said the family was in the home when the fire began but escaped safely.
“We knocked the fire down pretty quickly and conducted primary and secondary searches and found no victims and nobody was injured during the fire, including firefighters, Shaver said.
The firefighters were bale to save the home with flames confined to one or two rooms of the house, but with significant internal damage due to smoke.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
