The students in grades two and three in the Pike County School System honored those in their communities they deemed to be Super Citizens at a celebration program Wednesday morning at Troy University.

The students have participated in the Liberty Legacy Foundation Super Citizen Program which is designed to help elementary teachers teach civics, character, financial literacy and the Great American Story.

Becky Saunders, Liberty Legacy vice president of development, said the Super Citizen Program not only provides the students with the tools they need to become super citizens, it also brings awareness to those in their communities that are role model Super Citizens.
