The Colley Senior Complex will host its 20th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast at 8 a.m. Monday at the Troy Recreation Center.

Center Director Catherine Jordan said all veterans and their spouses are invited and hopes are that veterans of wars WWII and forward will take this opportunity to be together and to be honored for their service to their country.

“Because of these veterans and those who have gone before, we are a free and independent nation,” Jordan said. “The United States of America is the greatest nation on Earth because men and women have been willing to serve and to die if necessary to preserve the freedoms we enjoy.”

Jordan said this Veterans’ Day Program will be especially special because World War II veteran William L. “Billy” Jackson, Col. Ret. will be the featured speaker. Jackson also served in Korea.

“We are honored to have a World War II veteran speak and look forward to having Col. Jackson with us,” Jordan said.

Special music will be presented by Shelia Jackson and Patrick Jackson. The program will close with the playing of “Taps” by Michael O’Hara.
