The City of Troy will host its Downtown Holiday Market on the Square this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

“We have a great variety of art and craft vendors participating in the market,” said Leigh Anne Windham, coordinator of the event. “You will find holiday decorations and items that will make wonderful Christmas gifts.”

Vendor Jeff McDurmont said the holiday market is always a special time of year.

“It’s quaint and has that Christmas feel to it,” McDrumont said. “It really lets the shoppers see everything in one location that they could hope to give as gifts for the holidays.”

The market was originally planned to be held in the old Wise Building, but was moved due to recent construction work on the building.

The market kicks off the Christmas season in Pike County, beginning a variety of Christmas events to be held across the county in the next two months.
