SINGING ON: Brush Arbor Singing begins festival

The 2019 Peanut Butter Festival got off to a traditional start Wednesday night with a communitywide Brush Arbor Singing on the grounds of the historic Bass House.

For 26 years, the sponsoring Brundidge Historical Society has opened festival week with an old-time singing that is a throwback to the heydays of the peanut butter mills in Brundidge. The Peanut Butter Festival will get off to an 8:30 a.m. start Saturday on the grounds of the Bass House in downtown Brundidge. The festival will feature, non-stop entertainment, old-time demonstrations, games, contests, art and crafts, festival foods and peanut butter galore. Admission is free and everyone is invited.

In case of heavy rain, the featured entertainment will be on stage at the We Piddle Around Theater on North Main Street.
