Police responded to Charles Henderson High School Thursday shortly after noon to a reported disturbance between a student and parent.

Principal Lise Fayson said the altercation did not endanger any of the school’s students and that police were called as a precaution.

“This occurred in the very back of one of our buildings and the teachers decided to hold the students back in their rooms instead of letting them out while this was happening,” Fayson said. “They were only kept in the classroom for about five minutes and they were never in any danger.”

Fayson said the student’s parent was attended to by the school nurse with minor injuries and did not require transport to any medical facility.

Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said the school administration already had the incident under control when responders arrived.
