Elizabeth Ann “Lizanne” Marley Harbuck

Elizabeth Ann “Lizanne” Marley Harbuck, 86, a former resident of Daphne and native of Brundidge, entered into heavenly rest on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Riverview Health in Savannah, Georgia. She was born on Sunday, August, 6, 1933, in Brundidge, and graduated from Pike County High School in 1950 as valedictorian. She received a B.S. in Education from the University of Alabama in1954.

For 70 years, she served in dozens of churches as organist/choir director. In addition to teaching school, she also taught music to hundreds of students on piano, violin, and voice, as well as running her own music lab in Brundidge, E Sharp Studio. She performed with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and played for countless weddings, graduations, and other church events.

Lizanne is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Harbuck Jr.; her son, Jeffrey Joseph Harbuck; and her parents, Escar and Helen Marley. She is survived by her brother, Dr. David Marley and his wife, Sarah, of Pittsburgh; daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer and David Keller of Lakeland, Florida, and Marley Gibson and Patrick Burns of Savannah; grandchildren Sarah Keller of Lakeland, Stephanie and Bryan Cousin, and their children, Alexandria and Jason, of Lakeland, Joshua Keller of Ruckersville, Virginia, and William Burns and Alec Burns of Savannah.

Services will be held at Dillard Funeral Home, 6549 US Highway 231, Brundidge, AL. Visitation is on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from noon  to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow in Dillard’s Chapel.  Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
