Troy’s Saving Our Youth Organization will host a “fierce and fabulous” fashion show Saturday at Washington Park in Troy.
The organization is teaming up with M&S Accessories Apparel and More and Women of Refined Gold Inc of Montgomery to host the event, which is expected to become an annual affair.
“Our Focus with this show is Bridging The Gap with our Youth in our communities and teaming up with Women of Refined Gold,” said SOY founder Lashonda Spikner Martin. “
Playwright Tira Judkins of TKJ Productions will speak on how to continue to fight against and end domestic violence with young adults, boys and girls, in high school.
Que Guilford, founder of “A Change in Me,” will speak to the youth and women present on success and domestic violence and how to fight against it and bring more awareness upfront in the community.
More than 30 models will hit the runway to hip hop and R&B hits, with entertainment provided by Nina Kinsey Goshea and Shay Mitchell Richardson.
Martin said the show will be dedicated to her father Anthony Siler, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this month.
“We have a stellar lineup of designers with the hottest Fall 2019 fashions and introducing some Spring 2020 fashions that will be out next year,” Martin said.
Designers include Amanda Welch, Lashonda Martin, Madison Elise Hawkins and Saniyah Rogers, Denise Shines, Ebony Cromartie, Cherrita Hammons, Tenisha Marquis and “celebrity designer” Lebron Spradley of Cutting Edge Fashion in Montgomery.
More than 30 vendors will be at the event with food, clothing, hair care, jewelry and more. Shoping begins at 2 p.m. and the show will begin at 3 p.m.
Entry is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
