Eagles push winning streak to four against New Brockton

Bryan Galloway did a little bit of everything Friday night in leading the Eagles to a 42-16 victory over the New Brockton Gamecocks in Goshen.

Galloway was responsible for 380 total yards of offense and four of the Eagles’ six touchdowns. He again broke 200 yards on the ground for the second consecutive game, picking up 240 yards rushing with three rushing touchdowns.

His lone passing touchdown may have been the most exciting play of the game however, as the ball bounced off of receiver Tre Dix’s hands only to be hauled in by fellow receiver Makel Avery for a 25-yard score.

Galloway started the scoring early, scampering in from 17 yards out to cap a four-play 48-yard drive to open the game.

The Eagles extended their lead to 14-0 on the deflected touchdown catch by Avery on their second drive.

The Eagles looked like they could begin to dominate, but fumbled the ball at their own 23-yard line, setting up an easy field goal opportunity for New Brockton.

Goshen answered with another balanced drive down the field, with Galloway scoring again from 14 yards out.

New Brockton was energized on the next play when they took the Goshen kickoff back 78-yards to set up a two-play touchdown drive to pull within 11 early in the second quarter.

Goshen continued to score though, with a long 41-yard rushing touchdown from Tamarcus Shipman that got the home crowd yelling.

New Brockton continued to make offensive plays though, setting up a 13-yard touchdown run to bring the score to 28-16 with three minutes left in the second quarter.

The Eagles mounted a drive to finish off the half, but Galloway was tackled before reaching the end zone as time expired.

The Eagles defense shored up in the second half, keeping New Brockton scoreless while the offense continued to add points.

Raquon Martin and Galloway each scored a rushing touchdown in the half, Martin from 2 yards out and Galloway from 42 yards out.

The Eagles head out on the road next week to face Georgiana.
