Michael Phillip Sanders, 17, of Goshen, died Monday, July 29, 2019, as a result of a car accident. Michael was a member of the Goshen High School Class of 2020. His classmates and John Paul Boswell will serve as honorary pallbearers. Michael could be described as fearless and smart. Matthew 10:40 describes Michael: “He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.”

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rick Hayes and Reverend Derek Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

His survivors include his parents, Phillip and Wendy Sanders and Michele and David Brooks; sister, Kailly Jernigan; maternal grandparents, Les and Susan Allen, Kelly Garver, and Claudia and Steve Brooks; paternal grandparents, Richard and Teresa Sanders and Herman and Sandra Rotton; aunt Janet Sanders; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other close family members. He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Rushing, Jim Bryan, and cousin, Trey Strickland.

Serving as pallbearers will be Zack Baker, Robert Henderson, Chase Bryan, Jason Dickert, Trason Wilkes and John Taylor.
