Saving Our Youth doubled the size of its annual school supply drive in its second year, giving out 1,000 supply bags to participating students.

Lashonda Martin, founder of Saving Our Youth, told the attendees to focus their efforts on raising their children in the home so that they can succeed in the classroom.

The event also included vendors, free food and activities for the kids.
