The Troy Planning Commission approved the subdivision of a lot at Troy Health and Rehab for sell.

Walt Stell, who represented the company in the request, said the plat was adjusted to satisfy the commission after a similar request by Army Aviation Federal Credit Union was denied by the commission last month.

“They had the same concern about this lot, about traffic on Pike Manor Road and storm drainage,” Stell said. “Before the meeting we agreed that if that was still an issue, we would not develop the back part of the lot.”

Although Stell said he didn’t have an official number yet, the change reduced the size of the lot from 2.6 acres to probably about 1.5 acres. The lot will not have any access from Pike Manor Road; the only access will be from Alabama Highway 87.

The change satisfied the commission to approve the lot subdivisions. The lot is already zoned for C4 commercial use and Stell said the plan is to sell the property to a commercial entity.
