Troy man charged with armed robbery

A Troy man has been charged with armed robbery after he allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money from a victim on Butler Drive.

Jay Steele Killingsworth, 32, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery Thursday in connection to the report.

“According to the report, the victim, a 21-year-old male, surrendered his wallet and Killingsworth left the scene,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. No injuries were reported.

Killingsworth was booked into the Pike County Jail on a $50,000 bond. First-degree robbery is a Class A Felony punishable by 20 years to life in prison.
