Get out the camera, the iPhone or whatever else it is that captures images and start shooting. The Humane Society of Pike County ‘s 2020 Pet Photo Contest is underway and no Pike County pet wants to be left out.
The pet with the most votes will be the cover pet for the 2020 Pet Photo Calendar and that’s quite an honor for the pet and its family.
Donna Brockmann, president of the sponsoring Humane Society of Pike County, said there will be a total of 66 winners in the contest.
“Of course, the winning pet will be on the calendar cover,” Brockmann said. “Additionally, there will be 13 monthly winners and 52 weekly winners. Honorable mentions will be on the back cover, so every pet entered will be featured on the calendar.”
The entry fee in the 2020 Pet Photo Contest is a $10 donation to the Humane Society of Pike County.
“You may enter as many photos as you would like,” Brockmann said. “However, each photo requires a separate entry form with a $10 donation.”
Photo entries will be accepted through August 3. Votes will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sunday, September 1.
Entries may be mailed to Pet Photo Contest, P.O. Box 296, Troy, AL 36081. Mailed entries must to postmarked no later than Saturday, August 31 to be counted.
Entries and $1 votes may also be dropped off at Guynn’s Income Tax and Bookkeeping Services, Jinright’s Hillside Antiques, The Little Framery and Three Notch Antiques.
Online entry and voting and viewing are available at www.pikehumane.org.
“This is the Humane Society of Pike County’s 12th Annual Pike County Pet Photo Contest and we want it to be the biggest and most exciting of them all,” Brockmann said. “This is our annual fundraiser and all proceeds from the Pet Photo Contest and calendar sales support our county-wide spay/neuter program, our feral cat program and Families-in-Need program.”
