The Troy University National Alumni Association is kicking off its “Members in May” campaign with a social media blitz that is designed to generate interest in the university, past, present and future.

And, in the process, also increase the membership in the Troy University Alumni Association, said Faith Ward, Troy University alumni director.

During the month of May, alumni can catch up on what’s happening around Troy University through the social media of their choice.

“Monday will be Meet a Student Day,” Ward said. “Students will talk about their studies and activities at Troy University. On Tell All Tuesday, alumni will talk about membership and its importance to them and to the university.”

Wednesday will be networking for better lives and careers.

“Throwback Thursday features photos and memories of athletic events and teams, fraternities, sororities, clubs, cheerleaders, band and anything of interest to Troy University alumni,” Ward said.

Friday will be for the alumni employee/employer spotlight.

“The feedback will be important in helping us throughout the membership campaign,” Ward said.

During the campaign, everyone who joins the Troy University Alumni Association or renews their membership will receive Troy University logo magnet strips.

“These are punch-out magnets and they will look great on everything from lunch boxes and to mailboxes,” Ward said.

A very important part of the alumni membership campaign will be the Troy vs Alabama baseball game at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

“We will be tailgating from 4 until 5:30 p.m. and those who join the Troy University Alumni Association will be invited to eat free,” Ward said.

Pike County and Brundidge have their own Troy University Alumni Associations and they will host Trojan Tour at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in the north end zone facility at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet the head coaches of Troy athletic teams and learn more about their recruits and their expectations for the upcoming seasons.
