Tupper Lightfoot library to open registration for summer reading program on May 1

The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge will open registration for its Summer Reading Program on May 1. Registration will continue through May 24 or until the program is full.
Theresa Trawick, library director, said registration is free and the summer reading program will feature “A Universe of Stories.” Therefore, subjects of all areas of interest can be explored through the Summer Reading Program and through at-home reading which will be motivated by the outstanding library programs.

Trawick said SpringFest, which is sponsored by the Brundidge Business Association, will be on May 11. “Tupper” will participate in the arts and crafts festival with a silent auction at the library.
“Merchants around town and around the area are donating items for the auction,” Trawick said. “We would also welcome the donation of items from individuals that would be suitable the auction.”
Proceeds from the silent auction will support Friends of the Library. To donate an item or items for the silent auction, call Larry McLeod at 334-770-5994.
The library will host Muffins for Moms from 10 until11 a.m. on SpringFest day. Trawick said Muffins for Moms will show appreciation for moms on their weekend. Mother’s Day 2019 is May 12.
The May Brown Bag event will be on May 16. Trawick will present the program on “The History of Memorial Day” which will be a national patriotic event of May 27.
The library will host Pike County High School Senior Volunteer Appreciative Evening from 5 until 6 on Thursday, May 16.
