Demarcus Ware will join Troy Athletics and the City of Troy Friday at St. Peter’s Baptist Church to collect donations for tornado victims in Pike and Lee counties.
“Demarcus, being from Auburn, wanted to set up a place to bring toiletries, canned goods, bottled waters and take and distribute them in Pike County and also to people still rebuilding over in Lee County,” said Adam Prendergast, assistant director of athletics and communications.
Donations will be taken at the church from 12:45 to 2:15 p.m. and Prendergast said anyone with donations after that time can bring items to the Troy Athletics Department.
“We appreciate DeMarcus, Troy Athletics, St. Peter and everybody involved for doing this,” said Mayor Jason Reeves. “A lot of people have asked what they could do to help those affected by the storm and this is something that will do that.”
