Troy is back at Riddle-Pace Field this week for a pair of matchups with in-state rivals UAB and Alabama State; both games are set for 6 p.m. Tuesday’s meeting with the Blazers will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Wednesday’s contest against the Hornets can be watched on Facebook Live.

The Trojans (16-14) have been on a roll lately, winners in six of their last eight games with two conference series victories and a midweek win at Alabama. After dropping its first five league games, Troy has climbed back into third place in the East Division of the Sun Belt.

Senior Sadler Goodwin helped propel Troy to a 3-1 record last week, both on the mound and at the plate. Goodwin recorded six hits, drove in five and scored four runs in the four games, while also pitching 10.1 innings and giving up just four runs in two different outings.

Troy will look to a pair of southpaws on the mound in the two games, starting freshman Taylor Pridgen and junior Max Newton respectively. Pridgen will make just the second start of his career, his first coming at Jacksonville State where he scattered just two hits in four innings – Newton allowed just one hit in two innings of work in his last outing at Alabama last week.

UAB (14-19) took its first meeting with Troy, 8-6, at Regions Field on March 12. The Blazers have won its last two midweeks – both over Samford – but have struggled in conference play winning just two of its first 12 league games.

Alabama State (16-13) comes in on a little streak itself, winning five of its last six contests including a win over in-state foe Jacksonville State. ASU has played just two games in the last 10 days after a week off from conference play and a postponement in its most recent SWAC series at Mississippi Valley State.

The Blazers lead the all-time series against the Trojans. Troy fell to the Blazers 8-6 earlier this season.

The Trojans lead the series against Alabama State 24-4 overall and 13-1 at home. Trojans won 10-2 in their last meeting.
