Goshen residents will now have the opportunity to go to the probate office without travelling all the way to Troy.

Probate Judge Michael Bunn announced Thursday that Goshen will now have a satellite office starting on Wednesday, February 13.

“When I was campaigning, people in Goshen expressed a desire for a satellite office similar to the one in Brundidge,” Bunn said. “Mayor Jordan provided us with the space we needed and, with his help, we are happy to announce that we are ready to open the doors on the Goshen office. This should make it more convenient for residents to do business with the Pike County Probate Office without having to drive to Troy.”

The office, which will be located in the conference room inside Goshen’s City Hall, will be open the second Wednesday of every month.

Former Probate Judge Wes Allen opened a satellite office in Brundidge years ago so that residents of the city could take care of their probate needs right where they live, and Bunn campaigned on expanding the satellite offices to Goshen and Banks.

Whitney Jordan Sanders, a Goshen resident, who works for the Pike County Probate Office will be on-site to assist residents with renewing vehicle and boat tags/registrations. Applications for handicap placards and tags will also be accepted at the satellite office.

Residents are encouraged to bring proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license with them between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm. Customers with a last name beginning with the letter B are due to have their tags renewed during the month of February.

The Pike County Probate Office currently has a computer station inside the Goshen City Hall’s Senior Citizen which is available to all residents who wish to renew their driver’s license or car tag online. That computer is available from 9:00am until 4:00pm daily.

The Brundidge Satellite office is open the first Wednesday of every month. An announcement regarding the opening of a satellite office in Banks is expected soon.
