Goshen child critically injured in collision

An 11-year-old Goshen boy is in critical condition following a car crash at the intersection of Henderson Highway and County Road 2291.

Trooper Justin Vann said the juvenile was transported to Baptist South in Montgomery via Life Flight helicopter.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. Thursday when a woman driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala attempted to turn east onto Henderson Highway from County Road 2291. Another driver in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala traveling west collided with the vehicle, sending both cars off of the roadway.

The driver of the 2002 Impala refused medical treatment, but her son was critically injured. The driver of the 2008 Impala was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center by ground with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers at this time. No identities have yet been released.
