Troy police are conducting a death investigation in the former Mossy Grove Estates subdivision on County Road 2300.
Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said police were dispatched to the residence at 1:17 p.m. and arrived to find two people deceased inside the home.
“At this time, it appears that the deaths are domestic related, and police are not searching for a suspect in this case,” Barr said.
Barr said no further information is being released at this time while next of kin is notified. The bodies are being transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy.
According to a source close to the investigation, one or both of the deaths were caused by gunshot.
The Troy Police Department is being assisted in this investigation by the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, the Pike County Coroners Office and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
