Leadership Pike, a program of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, announced today that Pike County Grillfest will be held on March 2, 2019. The organization is encouraging backyard grillers from around the county to show that they have what it takes to be Pike County’s Grillmaster. All proceeds from the grilling competition will go toward funding scholarships for high school seniors from Charles Henderson High School, Goshen High School, Pike County High School and Pike Liberal Arts School.

“We are excited to host this grilling competition,” Brock Kelley, President of Leadership Pike said. “You can ride down the road on any Saturday afternoon and smell really good food being cooked on grills in backyards all over the county. We think it will be a lot of fun to see everyone bring their skills and their recipes from their backyards to the competition. Cash, prizes and bragging rights will be on the line on March 2.”

Each entry costs $25 and competitors can choose from one of three categories: ribs, chicken or hamburgers. A winner will be chosen in each category and the three winning teams will walk away with $200 each and the title of Grillmaster.

Local entertainment and child-friendly inflatables will be on-site. Tasting tickets will be available for $1 per portion for those that would like to sample the fare.

“This is going to be a great event with a little something for everyone to enjoy.
