Premier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is giving back to local elementary schools during the first quarter of this year when cars are sold at its Troy location.

For each vehicle sold from January 1 to March 31, $200 will be donated to elementary schools including Troy Elementary School, Pike Liberal Arts School, Banks School, Goshen Elementary School, and Pike County Elementary School.

“My wife and I, as well as my staff, wanted to continue our campaigns toward giving back to our community,” said Jason Gregory, owner. “We sat around the table to look toward the future here in the Pike County Area and we felt like it was a good cause to pledge $200 a car in the first quarter.”

Gregory said the money will be collected until the end of the quarter and then Premier leaders will look at programs such as technology, literacy, arithmetic and see what the schools deem necessary for those programs.

“This will give them a head start providing the best education and resources for our youth,” Gregory said. “That’s what we felt compelled to do. That’s our future for Pike County and the City of Troy.”

Caleb Dawson, president of the Troy Elementary PTO, said the gift will go a long way in providing students with needs that aren’t currently covered.

“The generosity that business is showing to students in our community is going to bear fruit in many ways over many, many years; we’re really grateful for it,” Dawson said. “Our main fundraising goal this year is to buy laptops for elementary school students to use. Each laptop cost about $230, so each car would almost pay for a laptop; that’s just good news for our students.”

In addition to the new campaign, Premier is also going to give back to one lucky senior graduating this year with their “Driving for A’s” campaign.

“All graduating seniors this upcoming May, every time they get a report card with an A they can drop their name off in our box up here and we’re going to select a lucky senior to get a 2019 Jeep Cherokee in a paid-for three-year lease,” Gregory said.
