A Troy student turned himself into Troy police Tuesday on a charge that he left the scene of an accident with injury.

Michael Alfonzo McKenney II, 21, of Montgomery, was wanted on the charge, a Class C Felony, in connection with an incident on the Troy University campus on November 2 in which a 20-year-old female student was struck by a vehicle while crossing University Avenue.

Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said the victim had serious injuries that were not life-threatening.

Barr said McKenney was the driver of the white 2010 Mercury SUV that hit the other student shortly before 1 a.m. that day. McKenney was not on scene when officers arrived, Barr said.

The collision occurred at the intersection of University Avenue and Park Street.

Class C Felonies are punishable by 1 to 10 years in prison.
