Mr. Foy Mitchell of Troy passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at his residence. He was 90. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Mossy Grove Cemetery with full military honors, Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time. He was born May 18, 1928, in Banks to the late Joseph Monroe Mitchell and Mary Alice Greathouse Mitchell. He was retired from the State of Alabama 7th Maintenance Division after 25 years of service. He was also retired from the National Guard after serving 35 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Roy Mitchell and a brother Melvin Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mitchell, Troy; son, Michael Foy Mitchell (Mark S. King), Baltimore; daughter, Susan M. Barron (Cleveland), Hope Hull;  grandchildren, Zackery Barron (Anna), Notasulga, and Kaitlyn Barron, Hope Hull; great-grandchildren, Piper Barron, Notasulga, and Allena Barron, Hope Hull; stepdaughter, Carolyn Hill (John), Utah, and Glenda Grissette (Tommy), Troy; step-grandchildren, Mikala Burk, Stonie Griffin, and Craig Griffin, all of Troy, Tammy Edelbrock, Mississippi, and Michael Dillard, Colorado; step-great-grandchildren, Pierce Gill, Phenix Griffin, and Payne Griffin, all of Troy, and Matthew Flint, Enterprise; sisters, Wilma Rogers, Troy and Hazel Brown, Marietta, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Rogers, Stonie Griffin, Craig Griffin, Matthew Flint, Steve Edelbrock and Wayne Mitchell.
