William Franklin Faulkner

William Franklin Faulkner, 78, a resident of Troy, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Curtis Faulkner and the Reverend Eric Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Hinson Cemetery in Troy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Faulkner was born of the Needmore Community in Pike County on August 10, 1940, to the late William and Idell Faulkner of Needmore. In order to provide for his family, he worked hard doing what he loved in the logging business. Some of his many loved pastimes included fishing, hunting and telling stories of his childhood. He thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Faulkner; daughters, Lynn Rushing (Randy) of Troy, and Jeannie Hussey (Scott) of Troy; grandchildren, Kimberly Donaldson (Jason Rushing), Austin Rushing (Callie), Tyler Rushing, and Scotty Hussey (Kia); great-grandchildren, Jaci and Ren Rushing, Ryleigh Rushing, Phoenix Hussey, and Brandon Holladay; brothers and sisters, Wayne Faulkner, Ray Faulkner (Joan), Ann Johnson, Delphine Seay (Ralph), and Maggie Miller; sister-in-law, Lillian Faulkner; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William G. Faulkner and Ginnie Idell McVay Faulkner; and brothers and sisters, Robert G. Faulkner, Gillis Faulkner, Bernice F. Little, Jerry “Joe” Faulkner, Johnnie Viola Jones, and Martha Jean Conrad.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Hussey, Austin Rushing, Tyler Rushing, Matt Jones, Mark Jones, and Sam Jones.

The family of Mr. Faulkner would like to send a special thanks to all the Alacare Hospice workers, especially Brittany, Vanessa G., and Cynthia. They would also like to thank Dr. Mary Kate Moring, Linda and Ronnie Morgan, and all of their family and friends who took the time to visit with Mr. Faulkner.
