Candidates disclose September finances

Candidates for the District 89 seat in the Alabama House of Representatives have reported their campaign contributions and expenditures for the month of September.
Republican nominee Wes Allen, current probate judge, brought in a surge of contributions as he prepares to challenge Democratic nominee Joel Lee Williams, local attorney.
Allen brought in a total of $29,175 in cash contributions through September after beginning the month with $11,627 in his campaign balance.
His contributions include $250 from Alex Whaley II Leasing, $500 from ALOPAC, $250 from Jerry and Cathy Beckett, $200 from Reuben and Sarah Bowden, $100 from Michael Bunn, $100 from Chad and Donna Copeland, $250 from Jimmy and Martha Copeland, $500 from Dr. Allen and Gayle Dunn, $1,000 from F&M Properties LLC, $100 from Amy. B. Flowers, $1,000 from William Freeman, $125 from Judy Fulmer, $500 from Horn Beverage, $1,000 from Terry and Vicki McPherson, $50 from Providence 365 Farm, $100 from Robin and Jan Sullivan, $400 from James and Angela Thomas, $500 from Troy PAC, $250 from Whaley and Whaley Farms, 42,500 from Alabama Realtors PAC, $100 from the Orion Hunting Club, $250 from Edward and Carla Telfair, $250 from Daryl and Tammy Calhoun, $25 from Jesse and April Wilson, $500 from Alabama Propane PAC, $100 from David and Jean Laliberte, $1,000 from Alabama Power Employees State PAC, $200 from Steve and Diane Clouse, $250 from Peter and Cheryl Dichiara, $500 from Jerry M. Allen spent $3,823.10 during the month, including $1,073.10 to Ideal Graphics and $2,750 to Remington Research Group.
Williams spent most of the money he brought in during September, raising $6,450 in contributions and spending $6,093.54.
His contributions include $100 from Joyce Landers, $100 from Rebekah E. Woods, $200 from Diana Dunbar, $1,000 from Pike County Democratic Executive Committee, $200 from Lyra Crapps, $50 from Greg Skaggs, $1,000 from CFM Properties LLC, $500 from Dr. Richard L. Schloemer, $500 from William F. Hopper, $100 from Stephen Stewart, $1,000 from Amos Newsome Jr., $200 from Diana Dunbar, $300 from Rebecca Ingram, $300 from Carolyn Gibson, $200 from Mary Kendrick, $200 from Harold Kaylor, and $500 from Chris Sanspree.
Williams’ expenses include $1,000 to Jesse McDaniel, $1,790.35 to Sports at Spectrum Graphics, $50 to Postmaster, $1,611 to Service Printing Company, $60 to Dale County ADC, $476.33 to Ideal Graphics, $136.88 to Hampton Inn, $122.04 to Quill, $296.48 to Candywarehouse.com, $29.76 to UPS Store, $250 to 590Films, and $270.50 to Sisters Restaurant.
The candidates each have one more month left to campaign ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, November 6. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Photo identification will be required. The deadline to register to vote in the election is October 22.
