Troy police have arrested a man charged with stealing multiple utility trailers including a catering trailer from the Pig Café.
Jerry Lynn Styles II, 50, of Foley, has been charged with one count of first-degree theft of property and a count of second-degree property in connection with the thefts.
“Styles was identified as a suspect in the theft of two covered utility trailers in our jurisdiction,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “The first one was taken from The Pig Cafe on September 10 and the second one was stolen from the 300 block of Pike County Road 1101 on September 17.”
Barr said a third, open utility trailer was in the jurisdiction of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department. He has been charged with second-degree theft of property in that case as well.
All three trailers have been recovered.
First-degree theft of property is a Class B Felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Second-degree theft of property is a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years.
Styles was incarcerated in the Pike County Jail on all three charges with a total bond of $10,000.
The Troy Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Bullock County Sheriff’s Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
