Police seek burglary suspect

Troy police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man that unlawfully broke into a vehicle in broad daylight Thursday and stole a wallet and a handgun.

The burglary occurred in the parking lot behind Troy Cable at 1006 S. Brundidge Street at approximately 1:17 p.m. Thursday

The man was captured on surveillance footage outside the business.

“A black male exits a sports utility type vehicle, possibly a Ford Escape, and walks into the employee parking area,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “The suspect enters the victim’s vehicle and takes a wallet and a handgun. The suspect later attempted to use a credit card taken from the victim’s wallet at several ATMs and gas pumps in Montgomery.”

In addition to the cash reward offered by CrimeStoppers the victim is this case has offered a $500 cash reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
