Troy student robbed at gunpoint on campus

Troy University and City of Troy police are searching for a man who robbed a student at gunpoint on campus just after midnight Thursday.

Troy University officials said the student was walking back from a parking lot near Sorrell Chapel to his residence on-campus when he was approached by an armed man in a hoodie. The man took the student’s wallet and two books from his book bag before leaving in a silver Honda CRV with a spare tire on the back tailgate.

The student was not injured during the robbery.

Troy officials sent out a safety notice at 12:40 a.m. Thursday to warn students to be cautious.
