A Brundidge man has been arrested and charged with 14 felony counts of unlawfully breaking and entering a motor vehicle in Decatur.

Ramonte Scott, 20, of Brundidge was arrested September 2 by Decatur police shortly after the crimes occurred.

After a brief chase, Scott was taken into custody in the alley behind the apartments and charged with three counts of breaking and entering a vehicle.

Scott also has three warrants in Troy for parole violations.

After booking Scott into the Morgan County Jail, officers discovered more vehicle break-ins and added 11 more charges against Scott, who has being held without bond on the initial three charges. Bond was set at $2,500 for each of the additional 11 charges, bringing Scott’s total bond to $27,500.

Ulysses Wilkerson, 18, of Decatur was arrested nearly a week later on September 8 after being identified as the other suspect in the crimes. He too was charged with 14 felony counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $7,500 for each charge, bringing his total bond to $105,000.

Breaking and entering a motor vehicle is a Class C Felony punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison.
