A Celebration of Life service for Gavin Ray Taylor, 19, of Troup, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the Gospel Barn Church of Troup, with Pastor Jonathan Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Gavin passed away Friday, August 31, 2018. He was born July 10, 1999, in Longview. He was a mechanic, and loved to work with his hands. He was adventurous, and loved to spend time with his friends. He was also a compassionate person with a bright smile, who never met anyone he didn’t want to help.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Clara and Norman Meredith, and great-grandmothers, Lynette Bottoms and Orlena Bottoms.

Survivors include his mother and father, Nicole Meredith of Troup and Jason Taylor of Alabama; grandparents, Gary and Dianne Guthrie of Troup, Mikel and Leaurme Meredith of Longview, and Rhonda Taylor of Troy,; great-grandfather, Dale Bottoms of Jewett; brothers, Coltin Taylor and Quintin Taylor, both of Troup; sister, Kaitlyn Taylor of Troup; special friend, Devin Klotz of Gilmer; aunts and uncles, Jon Moody, Nikki Moody, Betty File, Amber Saunders and husband Jonathan, Jana Jackson, Andrew Meredith and wife Brittany, Rebekah Bernstein, and Trey Bernstein; great-aunts, Judy Stephens, Sheila Weil, and Susan Prozzo; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
